Is the buttstock deeply curving, sweeping down at the grip then back up to the buttplate? I suspect that it is one of the muskets assembled in northern India, Pakistan, Afghanistan. Lockplate looks like a percussionned Brown Bess style. A lot of locks of this sort, ex East India Company, or copies thereof were used in that region.

Yes and the owner thought it was from India.....
I'll get more photo's.....he is sending them from an el-cheapo camera phone.....
