I got my father's Model 43 Winchester .22 Hornet quite a few years ago after he had a stroke. He had never shot it with a scope. He got three blacktail bucks in one morning in 1970 with it. All legal, he had three tags.
When I got it I scoped it and the first time I took it to the range I tried to shoot it and the trigger pull was so heavy I thought I had left the safety on. I hadn't. I don't know how he could have shot it like that.
I shot that rifle myself as a teenager and I don't recall it being that stiff.
Is there any way to lighten that trigger pull?
