Can AR mags be made to fit/function in a mini 14?

At one time there was a magazine that was designed to fit in both the AR15 and the Mini14 but I don't know if it was successful and if it is still in production . Basically it was a Mini14 magazine that was adapted to fit the AR15 mag well . The AR15 fits into a rectancular mag well whereas the Mini 14 has stepped sides with a reduced front part of the mag well. So an AR15 style mag has to be radically altered to fit a Mini14 mag well. I tried, wasn't practical.

It would seem to me that as he wants a specific RRA 10 round pistol mag, the way to do it would be to keep the mag un-altered, and change the internal dimensions of the Min-14 magwell to suit.

As the Ruger mag rolls in and locks at the back, and the AR mag pushes straight in and locks from the side, I don't see it happening.
Probably easier to get Ruger to build a pistol based on the Mini, then get 10 round Ruger pistol mags.......

the mag in question was a ram-line 30 rounder made out of plastic- it worked well enough , and was advertised to fit ANYONE'S RIFLE

Correct, it was Ram-Line.

I had both rifle and 1 Ram-Line mag and it was JUNK! It never worked in the Mini and it would sometimes work in the AR.

The best mags for the Mini were the Factory Ruger 20rd'ers, and the best mags for the AR were anything made of alloy.

I had an Orelite (Israeli) 30rd'er given to me and it was junk too.

ram-lines were notorius hit or miss- the 10 round i had for my 742 worked, but only with the factory catch and not with their supplied extended version- it has long since disappeard- back in the day we got real usgi 30 round mags at 5/75 bucks, still in the paper, so i think the ram -line went with my mini when i traded it-
