Can i apply for an ATT without owning a restricted gun?

I have a few guns on the way from Irunguns
I was wondering if I can apply for an ATT right away without actually owning the guns yet..

if so what is the fastes way to obtain an ATT.. Mail fax can i call it in ?

I hope so cause we sent in my wifes a few weeks ago and she doesn't own a restricted yet, we however are in BC and the wait time is somewhere between 6 weeks and when hell freezes over.

I tried a few years ago, she would not give me one until I purchased my own. Stating a STATT would be issued If I wanted to borrow.

I am still waiting for my RPal to arrive and I was able to call in and apply for the ATT by phone. I emailed my range membership and then my ATT was issued. You can ask for email delivery and you will have it same day...I don't own any weapons yet. So the short answer is Yes.

When you talk to them on the phone you can give your email address to them to email everything out to you.

Also I had an LTATT that covered Western Canada through the BC CFO for a few years before I had a restricted or even a range membership (this was several years ago though). It just depends on if you get someone on the phone that is helpful or not.

I didn't specify when I did the application so mine was mailed but I called back next day and asked for it to be emailed...no problem. Then the one in the mail arrived a few days later. Handy having the emailed copy so you can store it electronically as a back up in case you lose your copy.

Just call the 800 number for the Firearms Centre and select the ATT option. You will be connected to the CFO for your province based on where you called from

Is this the same ATT the dealer needs to send you your first restricted? I just applied 2 days ago and faxed in my range membership. Should the dealer be able to ship now, or what......confused.......

Yes. When you purchase any restricted it will be automatically added to your att but they have to issue it first so make sure you have it.

A few weeks ago my buddy did his in the Surrey office, took 10 minutes. Too bad you are on the island.
