Ok question...
I have been hunting with my grandfather for the past couple years in 90B near the cottage since i have been hunting and now this year the girlfriend is wanting to get out but the drive for her would be kinda far as she will be in school and would only be able to make it out for a day here and there but we were thinking if we werer to apply her to 91B in the area I live then i can come home for the days that she could come out. Only thing is would this be leagal? I wouldnt take my gun with me and nor do i think i can even do any calling as I do remember somehwhere that calling is considered an act of hunting.

Any thoughts on this ?

Your controlled hunt tag is only valid in the WMU you applied for, and if you get stopped in another WMU with a firearm during an open gun season without a controlled hunt tag for that WMU, you will be charged. That's why they call it controlled.

Yeah I figured that much as I did mention in my first post that I would not be bringing a gun out with me and would not be doing any calling. Just more less just sit out there with her.

see above post, you are ok, and you can call if you want, just not carry a firearm.

You sure about the calling part? I do remember that calling would be classified as hunting. I think I was told this in the turkey course.

you can call for her. If you have no firearm, you are not hunting. You can push a bush and drive deer to her as well, again as long as you are not carrying.

I would really advice giving advice unless you are a CO. I would bet during a controlled hunt a CO would want to see her controlled hunt tag. If she is out even without a gun my guess would be a CO would be considered her hunting. Alot of guys push the bush. Also make sure if she is successful to have hunter orange on. I would call the MNR. There are ones who would make the decision in the field/
