I found slings for a Mosin cheap in the USA so was wondering if slings can be bought and brought across the border legally?

Ncstar replica sling any good?

$7.75

Not really. Stiff feeling, the metal is weak and the leather is cheap looking and fake.
I have a few, but only use them as a hand wrap when standing shooting offhand. I don't use them to sling the rifle over shoulder to carry them.

I have real ones and replicas, real ones are stronger and have leather dog collers, the fake ones are ok and strong enough but the dog collers are fake leather

LOL. The only parts of a mosin that are controlled for export are the barrel, receiver, and bolt body. That's it. A sling is DEFINITELY not an ITAR item.

Sling should be ok. I used to purchase AK accessories from K-Var and get it shipped to me by a friend from the states. Every single package crossed just fine except for one. Our customs decided to hold it. Package had AK and RPK mag pouches, a gas tube or two, slings and bunch of AKM wood kits. Customs ended up releasing it but I had to wait for a long time. American customs never caused any grief to me.

Nope. As far as I know, stocks are ITAR controlled for export.

No they aren't - not sure who told you that, but it's BS unless the cost exceeds $500.

And private sellers are exempt from the requirements to use hte Automated Export System for "small parts". (think e-bay, Gunbroker, etc.)

I don't know why Liberty Tree in the US refuses to sell milsurp stocks. I tear my hair out. Stocks are not ITAR items. Order any Boyd's stock you want. (Shakes fist at Liberty Tree)

So if I order a wood stock off eBay and it gets delivered to my mail box in the USA and I drive to the border and try to cross the border will they let me cross with no problems from the USA or Canada border under $500?
