Can I buy pistol grips in the US?

Looking to go to the states tomorrow for some shopping. Can I bring 1911 grips over without any issues?

What else can I buy from cabelas and bring over?

Ya, they are nothing more than wood and plastic. Put them in your luggage and don't bring the subject up when you exit:p

Sure you can bring them over... you just have to get them past the US Customs guys and have a good lawyer as backup. You can legally export out of the US, reloading equipment (not supplies), holsters, cleaning, accessories ie ammo can, ammo boxes, binos, spotting scopes, apparel, safes/cases, some shotgun parts (most shotguns are regulated under the DOS and not ITAR but try explaining that to some Custom guys), gunsmith tools and some non-tactical style optics.

What you can't export includes mags, firearms parts down to springs and screws, tactical scopes and RDS, reloading components, ammo inc dummy/snap caps, some tactical lights/lasers. I'm reading that even some instructional DVDs are ITAR controlled. Heck, even some firearm instructors are regulated under ITAR.

Homeland Security makes it up as they go along as they are not on the same page as the BATF or have the same rule book.A non -resident can't export gun parts or be in possession of such . The BATF ambushes Canadians in the parking lots outside of US gunshows and calls ahead plates to the border crossings from shows and even Cabela's.

Importing Firearms, Ammunition and Parts from the USA

The following topics will not be tolerated. Violation will result in immediate and permanent suspension. Some quasi legal/ grey/downright illegal examples that are specifically not tolerated are:

1. Shipping and driving items to Canada from the US that require US export permit.

This is purely informational but I found this site today, which has a writeup on some of the rules from the US perspective.

https://www.gunpartscorp.com/international-orders

Looks like the best bet is to order online. Here, they clearly mark which parts are okay for export and which aren't, even on a single gun.

Grips seem to be fine for export on that site, and some other main manufacturer sites like Ruger as well.
