can i kill a crow with a .22 pellet

if the crows land to eat the bread ,
the next time you put some bread out for them , take some starting fluid ( the ether based stuff ) and soak the bread in it .

They eat the bread , then pass out .

I know of one farmer who while the birds where passed out , would paint them with orange buckermans paint ( water based ) .
There would be orange crows all over his farm :d

-pointed hunting pellets work well, hollow points dont penetrate as well on their black armour. never shot them flying always stationary about 50 feet 800fps, 25-30ft 500>fps
ive never had pellets bounce off them like some say but im not one to rush my shots.

Yeah you can kill em, but make sure you are real careful about placement, I have had pellets do weird things inside game when fired from low powered air rifles, hit him in the head, or the top middle of his neck, thats your best bet, sling shots with .36 cal swaged lead balls work good too.

I shot one once with my pellet rifle in .177 took three shots to the head to drop him tough buggers, as to them taking off if they see you with a gun ...its my experince that even with it hid under a long coat they know your upto no good and bail out in a hurry before you can wip it out.

center mass .. if its injurred just shoot it again..
the result of aiming for the head on my property was a magpie that i actually hit in the neck, and it lost the use of one of its legs :p .. little bastard would just hop around all over the place. and never came within range again.. he could still fly, but had a hell of a job landing..

he ended up just flaring up as close to the ground as he could and then dropping onto his belly before using his wings to stand himself up like a lil black and white tripod

I nailed one out of my computer room window a few years ago. Slavia 620 .177 with a pointed pellet @ roughly 20yrds. It was up on the telephone wire, one shot dropped like it was hit with a .22lr. Right in the center of the chest. Once it fell all the other crows went nuts, circling and making a racket. Only one I ever shot with that gun.

Years ago my Parents lived on a green belt. One summer the crows decided it would be a good place to roost in the tree right behind the house. In the evenings you could watch the waves of crows coming to roost. Hundreds of then every night, making one hell of a noise. It got so we couldn't sit in the back yard.

One evening I had enough. I snuckout the back door with the 22 co2 pellet rifle and shot the first crow that fit in my sights, pulled the trigger. and watched as the crow bounced of the branches on its way down. My dad hung the crow up in the back yard.

That was 15 years ago, still to this day you can watch the crows fly towards the house then quickly swing a wide berth around the house, and go about 500 yards past the house..........:)

bats

When I was a kid bats were living in our cottage siding. The siding was board and batten and there was a space where bats could live. We would toss a bucket of water where the bats were living and wait a few seconds for the bats to fly out. My brother could shoot the bats on the fly with our pellet gun. Amazing shooting.

Crows are probably the smartest birds there are... I seen a set of crows swooping down at a rabbit to force it on the road, so it would get ran over by a car.. Then they could eat it... Why kill something so smart... Native people see them as a spirit animal.. Couldn't you kill a dumb pigeon instead...

pigeons.... bah would love to kill them. living at a apartment right now and tryed every thing from plastic owl to fishing line. Nothing! I got so much rats with wing pooping out side that i can't even step out...

i wonder if i can try the bread soaked in rum... :D

What is rule of shooting pigeons/crows anyway?
