Can I make a PPK restricted?

Ppk

Well this project is going on hold.
Including Armco i cannot find a gunsmith who will do this for me for several reasons including the destruciton of a collectable firearm. Its a neat little project but i think i may pursue another pistol at least for the time being. PPks often come up for sale anyways.

Details please

That PP looks sweet. Can please share the logistics of how you went about getting this done. The biggest problem I see is that I can't buy in order to rebarrel it. Do you need to get someone with 12.6 to buy it, have it, rebarreled, reclassified, and then transfer it ot you? What is involved in reclassifying? Any insight you can share here will go a long way. Thanks in advance.

I bought it from Epps. The gun was in their stock so I put the money down on it and they rebarreled it. After the rebarreling was done then they had the gun reclassified and then registered to me. It took a few weeks for the work to be done and then a few months :)confused: ) for the CFC to do their part but it was worth the wait. If you have a gun shop local to you that has a gunsmith on premise then they should be able to do the same thing for you if they happen to have a Walther in stock. If you find someone selling one privately then things can get trickier. You would have to get the seller to transfer the gun to your local gun shop and send it to them for the work and reclassification. Check with the folks at your local shop to work out the details in advance. They might find it a bit too much of a pain to bother with so it's best to talk to them first.

106 MM barrels are actually available through Dlask, Bits of Pieces, and probly others as well. Once you have the barrel most smithy`s can do the barrel swap without much problem.
