Can I order off of Freds?

I know they are pretty anal about having to use USPS. I wanted a stock shipped to a friend South of the Border and they said courier only and no mail. If they do ship North you will likely be stuck paying those ridiculous UPS customs brokerage fees.

US Postal Service just fine

screw that then...
it'll cost me 30+ bucks to get a 8 dollar handguard.

I have received two orders from them in the last three months. UPS the first time - ouch! I asked for US Postal Service the second time and there was no argument (I ordered over the internet - no voice). Came just fine, just a little slower.

Obviously lots of different experiences with Fred's.

Mine got turned back at the border when it was ups'd :( , they're gonna try to mail it now, but I had to e-mail to find out. I can't help but wondering if I hadn't e-mailed if I'd ever of heard anything? They don't EVER answer the phone:( :( .

I hope they have seen the light. It was early last spring when I was trying to make a purchase. I was just emailing back and forth and the lady I was conversing with actually told me that USPS did not service their warehouse and that she would personally have to take my order to the post office. She did not ever say no, but after about six emails I gave up. If they are using USPS now that would certainly give me a different attitude towards their business.

The last time I looked, all real M-14 parts are on the U.S. government's 'no export' list. Depsite what Fred may be doing.

There's some real horror stories on some other forums about what kind of guy he is. Fred is actually his dog's name. From what I've been reading, most that know the guy expect him to be wearing orange coveralls before the snow flies. Screwing people over seems to be a regular pastime. But that just from other (US) sites, no personal experience myself.

I know some people have had trouble with not getting their order from Fred's. I wonder if you are gauranteed to get your stock(s) if you order by money order? In the US it is considered a Federal offence if a US Post MO is involved with fraud, or some kind of shinnanagins. A business might want to make sure it provides product or service to customers who pay with a US Post MO. I dont' think a Canada Post MO would have the same weight, but it may be worth trying to order stocks with US Post MO for those who can. Just a thought.
