Hi everyone I jest bot a new Remington 887 nitromag tactical shot gun. If I want to shoot slugs out of it will I have to change the choke tube? The one it came with is "TACTICAL EXT CYLINDER". This is my first shot gun It is a smooth boar so I know that I need to use slugs that are rifled. But it pass throw the factory choke safely?

Yup, shooting a slug is no problem. I dont think i would shoot one with anything tighter than a modified choke though

YES! Cylinder bore means that there is no choke reduction. It is a straight cylinder all the way out.

should be good to go. we used to hunt with rifled slugs out of fixed full chokes years ago because that is all they made so why not now?

Slugs can safely be fired out of full chokes, not sure of any advantages of this, though. Not sure if I would try it out of an extra full (turkey) for what its worth.
