From leverguns:

A post talking about a conversation with a Browning rep:

John Wayne 100th anniversary 1907-2007, Model 92 in 44/40 with commemorative ammunition.

2 versions, standard and hi-grade, $1200 +/- and $2000 +/-. Miroku made and if I heard him correctly, to be introduced at the S.H.O.T show. He did have a flyer on these, not bad looking.

Not to knock Miroku as they make good guns, but I wonder if The Duke would cringe knowing his commemerative Winchester was being manufactured in Japan?

LOL

Well , the Duke was a fake, so why not his gun.........

Marion Morrison was an actor. How was he a fake?

Or do you believe that Tom Cruise can really do the things he did in Mission Impossible and the Last Samurai?

Graywood is the Winchester Distributor for Canada. They are located in Peterborough On. I was able to see the one and only picture the salesman had and I am supposed to have flyer with pictures soon. When i get it I will scan and send to you. I dont think they have any pictures on their site, but all sales reps emails are there.

Here's the news release from Winchester:

When the good Lord called John Wayne home in 1979, America said good-bye to one of its last true icons of western movie history. Although the beloved man is no longer galloping full speed with reins in his mouth and Winchester in hand, his legend lives on.

Born May 26, 1907, the "Duke", as friends and family called him, made over 175 movies spanning 50 years. And in every one of the western movies he starred in, he always requested one rifle - a Winchester with a large loop lever.

To celebrate this significant occasion, Winchester Rifles and Shotguns proudly announces the John Wayne Winchester Model 1892 100th Anniversary Rifle. Built to exacting specifications of the man himself and licensed by the John Wayne family, this limited edition rifle is sure to become a sought after collectors item by those who loved the man with "True Grit".

Blasphemy...........WHEN you go to hell for that remark, I hope the Devil hands you a Remington 710 in .308 and makes you shoot it for all eternity;)

I'm sorry, I take that back...it was a little harsh. You will for sure go to hell, but that 710 remark I made was totally out of line...no one deserves that:p
