anyone know if i can shoot .223 remington in a dlask 701-1? just confirming before i buy a case. thanks in advance! i am assuming that 5.56 and .223 would work either way.

more often than not in this day and age, you're good to go. If all else fails, give Joe a call. he might give you the low down on the particular gun in question.

I thought I read on their site that the 701-1 is 556.
If it is, I believe that 223 can be fired from 556 but 556 cannot be used in a 223 without some safety concerns. Someone better then I could confirm this.

ok holy #### does no one use the search funtion this EXACT same topic has been argued to death at least 100 times..... 223 in a 5,56 gun = ok, also because the US wont export 5.56 of 7.62 nato firearms the guns coming from there will all say .223 or .308 but in about 99% of the cases you can still use 5.56 or 7.62 in those guns.

Is the gun actually chambered for 5.56? I had a Dlask lower that said 5.56 NATO on it but when I later bought a Dlask upper I recall it only being chambered in .223 REM. It's the chamber of the upper that matters, anything can be written on a lower.

Even so, .223 in a 5.56 chamber is fine, other way around is not recommended due to pressure.

Could someone please explain whats different about the chamber in this barrel vs a 223 or 5.56 chamber?

I have shot thousands of rounds of both in mini 14's and AR's with no catastrophic failures.

Should be a sticky in the FAQ :D

For the WIN!

:agree: WIN :D:D:D

thanks guys, Dlask has confirmed that the 701-1 is ok with either .223 or 5.56.

to those that were sincere in their help, it is greatly appreciated.

to the whiners like Suputin, if you have nothing helpful to say, just STFU. you're wasting the time of everyone that has to read your complaints, and frankly no one wants to hear them...
