can i shoot .223 in a dlask 701-1?

thanks guys, Dlask has confirmed that the 701-1 is ok with either .223 or 5.56.

to those that were sincere in their help, it is greatly appreciated.

to the whiners like Suputin, if you have nothing helpful to say, just STFU. you're wasting the time of everyone that has to read your complaints, and frankly no one wants to hear them...

In a year or so, you'll be posting the exact same phrase. The search function still blows (I know) but Suputin has literally forgotten more technical information with regard to ballistics and esoteric fireams than you and I will ever know. You would be amazed at some of the people who frequent this board, and how helpful they can be - or not. Your choice.

I thought I read on their site that the 701-1 is 556.
If it is, I believe that 223 can be fired from 556 but 556 cannot be used in a 223 without some safety concerns. Someone better then I could confirm this.

What he said. :agree:

Could someone please explain whats different about the chamber in this barrel vs a 223 or 5.56 chamber?

I have shot thousands of rounds of both in mini 14's and AR's with no catastrophic failures.
It says it can fire both (which is like army proofing it), in the end means it's ultimately chambered for 5.56mm and will fire .223 just the same.

Quite the attitude for a guy with 60 posts on this board.

seriously, did you even read your own post? i don't have an attitude, i just speak up for myself. i'm sure you have lots of knowledge, and i'm always eager to learn from those more knowledgable than myself in any subject. but i don't respect anyone who chooses to have condescending attitudes, especially to new members, high post count or not...

No offense but... sphincter###?!?!? Say what? Just had to say I don't like the name, but I am sure you have a sense of humour about it. And like most people have said, 223 in a 556 good, not usually the other way around BUT in this day and age like others have said even 5.56 and 7.62 are being marked as 223 and 308 because of some nonsense south of the border. Wouldn't mind actually getting some real 5.56 or some real 7.62 ammo for less than my first born son or 4 arms and a half dozen legs.

That's a good way to make new friends around here:rolleyes:

I suggest you "thicken up you skin" or you will be frustrated all the time here on CGN, lol. Lots of sarcasm on the site.
