Can i shoot Crows PLEASE

The day I have to justify killing a crow is the day I give up what little hunting I do.

It's cause it would'nt be ethical since Newfoundland crows fly a little slower than ours... :p :ban: Just kidding, I can't see why they would'nt let you shoot them, that's messed up...
 
Over here in BC we can shoot Crows all year as well, that said it's not near as easy as it sounds. Crows are smart and very adaptable, they learn quickly. My buddy picked up a few Crow decoys, we took them out to a field and set them up around a stuffed rabbit (a kids toy). We set up a blind and called a few in, but they figured the whole thing out soon enough, great fun with the .22. Good hunting all.

There was a population explosion of crows in the Chatham/Kent ( Ont. ) area over the last few years. They even invaded the city , literaly by the 1000's , and became a real problem . A "contest" was set up to see who can get how many.....the "anti's" were all over that.
I see now the population is down ...I wonder how that happened ???...lol
There's a big difference between crows and ravens.
Size for one...
The raven is nearly twice the size of the crow and thier call is alot different too.
I mistakenly got too close to a Raven nest last spring...

Chatham Kent hired some people to help move the population with calls, and falcons, etc a while back
They will be back as strong as ever though- they are making a comeback now- every night and morning, and the city has bangers going off, to keep the crows from apartment buildings, and radio towers, etc
And, yes, they do adapt quickly to sounds, sights, etc. Some will sit beside an air cannon going off, and they know it wont hurt them.
 
I'm the local crow control in our small town and the song birds are coming back quite nicely now.

I've been maintaining 20 woodduck boxes for the last 5 years and I plan to add to the waterfowl population by smoking some crows that would otherwise be feeding on waterfowl eggs in Cache Bay.
