Can I tumble live rounds?

I put a box of 375 H&H and a box of 30-06 in my Lyman 1200 for about ten hours. It was old Silvertip ammo.

The brass and bullets turned out better than new. I am very impressed. It did pulverize my media though and I have to replace it now.

I'd be curious about when this galvanic corrosion would take place? Just checked some IVI brass that I had spun as per Looky's description, and it still looks fine - I prepped these in about 1985.
My thinking as well been using Lee case spinners and steel wool for years on grotty brass and haven't seen this yet.

I've had enough. I'm a gonna end this feudin' once and for all. Tonight I'm loading up one of my 3 tumblers with a box full of Win. white box 9mm loaded cartridges.
I'll be switching out tumblers every 12 hours, so as not to overheat the unit and causing detonation. I'll be doing a full month of tumbling. Non-stop.
At the end, I will go out to the club and fire off these rounds. If you don't hear from me on 4/18/2017, assume the worst.

I did this for 10 hours in a tumbler. Came back, posted chrono results and people complained it wasn't long enough. They complained it wasn't a vibrating tumbler or stainless steel.. and maybe it would be worse at 24h. You can't cure stupid, but you can fight with them all day on CGN.

How's things going?

I definitely would not even consider doing this and would feel stupid for even asking. That being said I am seriously surprised at the amount of people that see nothing wrong with this. I use a barrel tumbler with water, detergent, steel pins, and empty unprimed cases.

What do you see wrong with it?

I assume the worst!

I did two boxes at once a while ago. one box of 375 HH and one 30-06. they were old factory Silvertip ammo and they turned out amazing. Let it go overnight though and it pulverized all my media. had to get new media and there was dust all over the bench.
