can i use 500sw bullets to reload 50ae bullets?

need to reload for my desert eagle, but cant find 50 ae bullets. kinda new at this btw.

is 500sw 350gr the same and 50 cal? i cant seem to figure it out.

I am sure they will work as long as the profile of the tip doesn't interfere with the loading ramp on what i assume is your desert eagle? 50 AE are usually a round nose or flat nose and if your S&W bullets are too then they should cycle fine as the bullet diameter is the same

i had the hornady flex tips for my S&W and i am thinking you may have a bit of trouble but maybe not?? load up a few and see how it cycle? it will not cause pressure concerns as long as your OAL is on point and your powder loads are within spec for the 50AE

i reload 223 and 9 so far. but 50 ae is a bit of a new one for me

I would load those in a 50AE all day as long as there is load data for the 350 grain for the 50AE in your book and they should cycle just fine

Please don't load .50 AE with titegroup, and consider picking up a reloading manual.

H110 and IMR-4227 over a magnum pistol primer are typically used for .50 AE.

Higginsons has 300 gr XTP bullets for .50 AE in stock.

Thanks. Titegroup i assume is to volitile. So do i need magnum primers or large pistol primers?

I load 500 S&W, I have looked into 50AE with a friend and I don't recall ever seeing load data more bullet weights above 325gr.

Titegroup won't cycle the gun, I don't think I have ever read of a load that does. As mentioned H110 and IMR-4227 are better choices along with lil'gun, AA9 and Enforcer. Others as well I'm sure but it's been a long time since I bothered with .50AE.

I have both and use h110 for both. I have 2 different bullet weights that I use in both, both Campro round nose I believe. You shouldn’t have a problem, just use a reloading manual or check the powder manufacturer website.

They have a bullet for the Beowulf cartridge. It apparently works in other stuff too.

Oops your right it’s Berry’s. Bought some .357 campros at the same time. I have 300gr and 350 gr from Berry’s.

I was wrong too, the plated I used for my Beowulf was probably Berry's as well.
