can I use Ruger MK 3 mags in a Ruger Mk2

As above is it possible to use MK3 mags in a MK2 , seen a few conflicting posts on this.
I'm waiting for the transfer of a MK 2 and have a hard time tracking a few extra mags.

My father has a ii and I have a iii. Last time we were the range we mixed them up by accident. The ii mag didn't work in the iii. I guess I should have tried the iii in the ii just to know.

Wholesale and cabelas had some last I checked. The MK 2 mags can be switched to MK 1, but I'd think the thumb button release of the MK3 mags might hang up in a MK2. You could always push the notch/ catch down, or grind it off.

You have to file down the little tang on the MKIII mag that catches the mag release, then they can be used in a MKII.

I use my MKlll mags in my MKll with no mods. The MKII mags don't work in the MKlll they fall out.
