Hey guys,

Can you paint this kind of stock?
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bd/10FPXP-LE.jpg

Its a Savage 10Fp with a chocolate stock (I belive thats what they call it)

Wondering if its paintable? and if so, what kind of paint should I use, and what should the steps be for painting ontop of this kind of material?.

Thanks, I'll continue searching the net, but I would like some first hand input form you guys.

Thanks
Curtis

A few guys here have done great jobs on painting ther stocks. Can be done if you have an idea of what you want as far as a final look. Might end up doing mine in a winter camo theme. Check the precision rifle section and the photo gallery for threads on this idea. Good luck and dont forget to post pics after.

Why not, anything's possible! I'm not an expert and I'm about to paint my first precision rifle project stock. What I heard is that there are 3 important step : prep, prep and prep. It's recommended to sandblast before coating. I would go for arma-coat. It's Canadian and the word on the street is that it's pretty good.
