My dad gave me this sight he had laying around but knows nothing about it. Does any here know what its from or what its worth or what its called so I can do more searching?

There is an Ansultz logo on the side. I did some quick google searching but I am not convinced I have a 400-500 sight in my possession. I also posted here because I think Ansultz only makes 22s, could be wrong though.

Looks identical to the sights that came with my CIL 190 and Anschutz 1613X, both rimfires.

Look up Anschutz Match Diopter Sport Sight set. Newer versions can certainly go in the 400 dollar range. Yours are probably 35 years old or more, and might fetch $150 tops.
They are a very well made and precise set of sights. New versions offer little improvement in terms of quality, but maybe a bit smoother and easier to use with a better range of accessories.

Did he ever buy an Anschutz/CIL and replace the irons with a scope? If so that's probably where the sights came from.

Anschutz makes a lot more than just rimfires, but their rimfires are definitely their claim to fame.

That was a fast response. He never bought anything like a Anschutz. He bought guns for hunting. Thanks for the info

Are you familiar with Canadian Industries Limited CIL? They were a company out of Montreal that was licensed to manufacture Anschutz rifles in Canada. My 190 has a CIL stamped action and Anschutz stamped barrel. Lots of guys bought them and used them for hunting. They also made a mag fed version of the 1964 action in a sporterish stock specifically for the hunting crowd. Can't remember the model number.

One of my dads friends bought one and said his came with both scope and a sight set nearly identical to the one you posted. In was purchased at a hardware store in 1968 for just under a hundred dollars, which was a lot of money to spend on a .22LR back then.

I have heard of CIL but knew nothing about them until today

Canadian Industries Limited (CIL) was an importer of Anschutz rifles in the 1960's and 1970's. Savage was an importer to the U.S. at about the same time. Some CIL Anschutz models were for the Canadian target shooting program of the time, including the CIL Anschutz 180 and 190. The chemical company (CIL), which made ammunition and explosives, among other things, also imported sporter .22LR's such as the CIL Anschutz 125 (same as the Anschutz 1400) and the CIL Anschutz 310 (similar or the same as the old Anschutz 1416). Some center fire models were also imported. The semi-automatic CIL Anschutz are not Anschutz-made rifles, but Italian manufactured rifles (Marocchi) rebranded by Anschutz and sold here as CIL Anschutz 300 (and the similar 520/525).

Interesting. Just took a close look at the markings on my 190. Received is marked Made in Germany by Anschutz. Receiver and barrel are both marked CIL, with the barrel also containing 'Montreal, Canada'. Why would an importer mark the action and barrel, which would require a complete reblueing? Or were they manufactured in the plant in Germany with the CIL markings, including a location which is other than where the firearm was manufactured?

I'm thinking the rifles were made with the CIL stampings on them. The same would go for the Anschutz-made Savage Anschutz imports. (When dealing with the latter, it is important not to confuse Anschutz Savage rifles, which were Savage-made rifles imported to Germany, some of which have found their way back to the New World.) Browning has had some firearms made in Belgium or elsewhere and they have Morgan, Utah and Montreal, Quebec stamped on them.

Neat. Would love to have an Anschutz Savage.
