Hi Guys
I've got a Win 86 and need the hammer safety welded over and recut to original specs again.The safety didn't work when I got the gun and I put a diff trigger in her as that was no good.I had a guy respotweld the hammer and try to recut and didn't work so it needs to be completely welded over and recut.Help me please !.I see them on ebay but want to keep the old girl all original as it was made in 1888 and I know someone can do this for me.Please reply by email only,I've got computer probs trying to pm.

He mentioned that it was made in 1888.

I'm assuming that you want to have the halfcock notch area of the hammer built up, recut and rehardened. This is possible, but it would really be a better idea to replace the hammer if possible. You could ask Jason at Gunco, in Nepean, if this is something that he would want to do.
