Hard to believe. I've shot half-inch thick steel plates with my 416 Rigby and X Bullets and they went through like poop through a goose.

I just about flew off my seat when I read your original post. I am so glad I read the rest of the posts because it sounded pretty serious to me too.
Personally I think the idiot behind the gun should have caught it between the eyes. This is the only way to change stupid.
To answer the question of whether or not the guy would have been injured... If a 647gr steel core bullet leaves the barrel at 2700fps, slams into a solid object and screams back toward the shooter only touching the ground once before entering the skull, the damage was done long before that gun was ever taken to the range and this only put end to the misery. LOL
So you think that much energy was left in that bullet? Wouldn't a great deal have been expended during plate impact, tumbling through the air and the last ricochet off the ground?
Again, just imagine a 647gr steel core bullet twirling out of control slamming into the guys face. Not that long ago, a women was hit in the leg from a 50cal round that bounced off of something and flew 6miles. Even in free fall flight the jacket is jaged and the core hasn't deformed at all. The 50 is in a whole different ballpark then any other caliber.

Incredible - so even if it lost like 80% of its energy, it would still have as much punch as my .308 Win... Man I gotta try one.

they defiantly live up to the hype....
Tell me if I am wrong but in order for the bullet to change direction 180 degrees and come back towards the guy pulling the triger would not all the energy from the fired bullet have been absorbed from the target and the spring effect of the target be the only energy source sending the bullet back in exactly the opposit direction from were it was fired?? sir Isic newton's law for every action there is a = and opposit reaction.
