Ive got myself down...but cant seem to add the other 3 people who are going with me to shoot? Can anybody help?

BTW..its for Haliburton and is the same time that Omen is down for later on in the day.

Actually...this software is npt run by IPSC Ontario...it's Omens

You can only sign up yourself...your buddies will have to go in and create their own accounts and sign them selves up

Cheers

I think somehow I jacked somebody elses account? A M Downey? Im not sure how this happened? Lol this software...isnt easy to use..

Hi,

Ok, sorry for the rough tone, but which part of

"Every user has a unique, individual account here.
Create your account, if this is your first time here."

is hard to understand? Logging in with Bud's IPSC Ontario userid and password is not creating your own individual account, is it?

Create your own, individual account, and use that to schedule yourself for matches. If you buddies want to come with you, they can go in and create their own accounts - everyone does their own signup here...

(ohhh, if people only read instructions, life would be so much simpler ;) ).

lol perhaps you should improve your instructions ;)

cause its not just me that has had trouble with it... :)

my 3 other buddies gave up cause they couldnt figure out how to work your software... :)

Well, there'll always be the 5% who can't figure it out (out of the 200+ users so far we've had about 5-6 such problems).. No problem, you can just email the match organizer, and he can add you guys in himself.

lol yeah it would be no biggie..but in this case the guy doesnt have email..

It took me awhile but I got it figured out. Maybe if you just added abit of extra step by step stuff? I think it gets confusing because its not clear that its not an extension of the IPSC site?

Wow. If only anything else I have to do online was as easy as the match signup page.

What site that uses profiles and user ID's (including this one!) do you not have to create a profile?!?

As far as this goes, you're going to see a real push amongst the match organizers to go to 100% online squadding. Our boy Omen is going to be real popular, once this catches on!

Squadding people, fielding phone calls, emails, making changes, this guys doesn't like that guy, can I move to here, I need to switch squads is perhaps 50% of the work involved in match organization. Online signup makes it completely effortless. Like, no work at all.

And, frankly, it's 2006. The itnernet has been a fact of life for a decade. The old argument "not everyone has the internet!" is now univerally recognzed as the problem of the luddite without the computer, not the person providing a service solely on the internet.

We won't go 100% online...

Like it or not...there are still members that have no interest in online sign-up.

We will have to continue allowing signup be email or paper form

Just because we like it...doens't mean eveyone does

The saving grace is the ability for the MD's to add shooters that sign up by email or paper forms...

It's still a giant step forward

Cheers

It's up to the individual match organizers and up to the individual people to decide what they want to use and what they don't want to use. It's just a tool, that's all - it's there to make your life easier, if someone doesn't agree, no one is forced to use or do anything they don't want.

What worried me are people who don't pay attention to what's on the screen, who make assumptions about how the system works, and when those assumptions aren't met, they claim there is something wrong with it (or that it's difficult to use, mostly because it failed to read their minds). We'll always have people like that, with any computer system, but with 200 users already in there, and about a dozen clubs, they seem to be a minority ;)

The system is fine...

The UI is intuative...

People are just a bit confused...

We've been pretty clear in our communication that:

(a) IPSC Ontario doesn not manage this site, and
(b) You need to create your own account, seperate from the log in details for the IPSC Ontario website.

I think that once I get back from Barrie...a broadcast email is in order...

lol I think Omens stuff is handy...All I was suggesting was that perhaps alittle FAQ guide or step by step might help those who are accessing if for the first time.. just a thought:)

I like the system, it works well.

However, my problem with it is that the match admin cannot add people to the squads himself. So, for example, if 8 people sign up online for a certain time, and then 5 people call in or mail their request for that time, you will have 13 people shooting. I find that you have to constantly check back and forth between the paper/electronic schedules.

If there was a way for the admin to add mail/phone registrations to the squadding lists himself, it would solve that problem IMO.

My understanding is that the match Administrator can add shooters

they most certainly can and do ;) The only limitation is that a normal shooter cannot add other shooters (unless, of course, those people tell him/her what their userids/passwords are) - so can't have 1 person signing up him/herself and a bunch of his buddies all together. In those situations, either get everyone to sign up themselves, or if that's not possible, email the MD, and he'll add everyone together, in one lump (but that's the last resort, because this system is meant to remove the need for the MD to get involved with squadding, as much as feasible).

The MD can add people who are in the system already (of course), plus can create temporary placeholders for people who are not in the system yet also.

Users need to be configured to have that level of admin access, for matches in 'their' clubs. The only user so configured for CTM is Cameron H (he's the only one I emailed/etc with, and he never mentioned anyone else). So email/pm me who you really are, and we can set you up with that level of functionality/access too ;)
