Can someone identify this Lee Enfield?

Ya, us hosers eh?
True that. There were plenty of instances of weird equipment used by all armies in WW2. I recently read an account from one of Monty's staff officers in Italy after watching a Canadian infantry attack go in near Ortona. The officer said Monty thought the Canadians attacked in fine style but complained on their "irregular dress". The officer claimed they were passed by Canadian soldiers, one sporting a bowler hat and another wearing a hockey jersey with FLIN FLON written on the front.

Were the EAL'S re-worked military rifles or newly assembled from parts stock? What kind of value do they hold?
The rifle in the picture seems to have a globe target front sight. Not very practical with a scope...
It's got to be some kind of custom build. The barrel looks to short to be a (T) unless it was cut down..Very interesting picture.
EAL's came later...
