I'm moving to Canada soon and I would like to know what are the the Non-restricted and restricted battle rifles. Thank you in advance

So out of curiosity where you moving from?

A full list of restricted and prohibited can be found here;

http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/fs-fd/rp-eng.htm

In quick summary if it looks like a AR-15, M-16, or is classified a variant it's restricted. Under 18.5" in barrel length for center fire semi auto, or able to reduce in size by folding etc to less than 26", is restricted. Full auto's, and some that look like scary uber rifles (like Dragunov) are prohibited. Read the list for more depth.

So if it's not on that list you should (theoretically) be able to get it in Canada. There's always exceptions on what the US State department and RCMP decide on what to let through of course, the SCAR is a current good example of a rifle that may/may not be available in Canadian borders.

Welcome to CGN. :D

Thanks, much appreciated :)

well for unrestricted, M14s, the SVT 40s, the M1 Garands, those all seem to be good.
AR-10s are restricted, and I think the FALs, G3s, Saigas in 308 all are prohib :(

That's all that comes to mind right now, haven't had my coffee so I'm a little slow.

Easier to read what is not allowed than what is allowed. Laws don't tell you what you can own/do. Only what you cannot.
Anything that you may have now, that's on our prohibited list will not be allowed into the country either. You'll have to have our licence too.
Go here. http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/fs-fd/moving-emmenager-eng.htm
"...AR-10s are restricted..." Real, mid 1950's vintage, AR-10's are prohibited. Only the current semi-auto copies are restricted as AR-15 variants. Despite that the AR-15 is an AR-10 variant.
"...FN 49 in the non restricted category..." As long as the mag is pinned to 5. FN49's are not exempt from the silly mag capacity law.

I can only say for Russian.

SVT 40
Mosin Nagant
SKS
K98

If you want to bring something else check with RCMP beforehand and make sure you get the answer in writing.

Good luck

I'm going to assume you mean semi-auto battle rifles that are not prohibited.

Off the top of my head:

AG42B Ljungman
M1
M14S
Valmet M78
Gewehr 43
Gewehr 41
SAFN (all variants)
SVT40
SVT38
FG-42 reproduction

The intermediate cartridge rifles like the MP44 or VZ58 don;t count as battle rifles - they are carbine length with an intermediate round.

French MAS 44, 49 and 49/56

But as far a Battle Rifles go, any rifle carried in battle counts. So that means just about every rifle has been used formally or informally in just about any scrap in the history books ...
