Can someone who has a Ruger Mark 3 and/or 22/45 help me check something with trigger?

Sorry to post yet another question on the 22/45 but I am new to this so please do try to understand ... =( (btw it turned out my last quesiton about the mag drop free just occurs *after* I dry fired, so if I pull the slide mag won't drop free anymore at all)

I usually test trigger reset by dry fire once and hold on to the trigger down then rack the slide and slowly release the trigger until the reset click and verify by drying again. This works for all the pistol I have like my Glock17, SR-22 etc . However this 22/45 doesn't work like that. When I dry fire and hold down the trigger completely (totally pressed trigger tight hard) I cannot pull the slide at all (glock will let me pull the slide no matter how hard I press the trigger). Only if I release a little bit (even just slightly) of the trigger then I can pull the slide again. Is this normal? I have never seen this in a pistol before. I don't have a lot of experience with pistol so is this still normal? How does the semi auto function work if my trigger is pressed and the blow back action wanna push the slide? If this is not normal then what am I doing wrong? I did disassemble and assembled it once and took the bolt out and put it back.. Everything went smoothly (thanks to watching all the Youtube vid tutorial). Triple checked all functions everything runs fine. Slide pull, dry fire and verified with wall plug and I saw firing pin hit the wall plug. Extract and eject all good. Magazine disconnect work. Safety all working. I have never live fire this gun yet due to the nice snowy icy weather Vancouver this week... I was suppose enjoy this 22/45 this weekend but oh well...

I assume they test fired this gun at factory so everything should be ok... right?

If I dry fire my MKII and hold the trigger back, I can open the bolt. Not sure that answers your question?

I have a Mk.III 22/45 and can also dry fire, then pull the bolt back with the trigger held back. I do have the mag safety removed, so maybe that is the reason?

understanding the workings of the mark 3 fairly well as I built my own mag disconnect bushing I cant see why you couldn't open the bolt. it should open. I don't know if the 22/45 comes apart like the mark 3 but I would take it apart as in barrel and bolt off and the #### and fire it(hold back and drop the hammer slow) keep pressing the trigger hard then slowly let go and whatevers holding your bolt back should move slightly.

unless im way out in left field which is possible.

Sounds like the striker is in the wrong position when you reassembled it. Pistol will go back together, fire but will not cycle.

Thanks for the input guys.. I completely stripped the gun removed all pins and etc... took me 2 days and tons of trials and errors and Youtube watching... finally put it back from scratch... seems to fix the problem completely. Now I can pull the slide even if I hard pressing the trigger. Guess I can't always trust the factory assembly... So far testing all function/cycling with wall plugs dry firing and A-zoom 22lr snapcap no issues at all. No FTF, FTE etc. Wow I learned alot about this gun now by putting it together. Assemble and disassemble of the 22/45 seems piece of cake to me now. Will try actual firing this thing once the Vancouver weather is nicer (I know I know -5c is considered warm for you guys in non-BC area.... but we Vancouver ppl haven't seen ice on the ground for like 5+ years)
