I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a good and accurate .223 rifle in the $300.00 range(if it really can be had)?People with the experience of owning one as opposed to just reading about one preferred Thankyou.

Stevens 223 used. I picked up one with a scope and bipod for 350 on the ee. You just need to be fast because stevens 223 go fast during yote season.

It depends on your definition of good. The stevens 200 is a decent rifle. They can be very accurate but come with heavy trigger and bolt lift.
They are awesome for home upgraders too. They seem to be getting harder to find now that the $290 axis is here.

Sometimes you buy things that you are not sure of... you say ,it is cheap ,it will do fo a while but you get suprises... Bought from a guy that needed money a 223 NEF Ultralight for next to nothing, did put a cheap 6X24X40 Tasco and a chinese bipod at 40.00, bought some WWB 45 gr and this little cheap rig ( cost 300.00 including 80 rounds of WWB )became a yotes killer, many have fall to it, very accurate, light, it is little marvel to carry in the truck and up to 300 metres, i cant do better even with my most prized rifles and scopes... Money is not always the reference... Cheers. JP.

I also have a NEF Handi-Rifle Superlight in .223 and am happy with it. (I paid over $400 new because it was the cheapest new rifle back then, before the Stevens 200 existed.) At today's prices I think they are good value.

Bonus - in the low recoiling .223, the simplicity, compact size, and light weight of the Handi-Rifle makes it a great gun to own in case you have the chance to let a kid or other novice experience shooting.
