Can This be Done?

I use the 870 I bought last year mainly for turkey and deer hunting (but sometimes goose because of the 3in capabilities), and I hear a lot of people getting trigger jobs done on their rifles. What I would like to know can this be done on a shotgun...seems like a pretty yes no answer...im sure its something I couldnt do myself but it would be real nice when I squeeze a round off at a deer that I can do so with a lot less effort...

Gunsmiths stateside regularly fine tune 870 and 1187 triggers for Trapshooters and they may sell whole new units, I know they sell new release triggers for these guns as well, Al Timney would be someone to contact! Not sure of anyone in Canada.
