Bought it at a gunshow awhile back, only ever put 3 rounds through it myself ( old dominion 2" No.4 paper shells)

The first time I shot it nothing happened (that I noticed)

2nd round I was left with the shotgun in one hand and the pump in the other.

the gun itself works fine the Tube is the problem its been beat literally to death, im pretty sure ill need to buy a new one but just wondering if their is anything that can be done

thanks

Anything can be done with enough time and money. It looks like the solder let go. Putting anything new on a vintage shotgun usually drops its value by half. In this case, the damage has already done that.
I'd contact Precision Arms, in King City and talk to 'em. (That's just North of TO if you didn't already know.) They're shotgun specialists.
Add the W's. .precisionarms.ca/WebPages/SplashPage.htm

A WTB in the shotgun parts area could be a place to start.
Or write down all the info and send Western Gun Parts an email with
the "CORRECT" description of the parts you need and ask for availability
and price.
Maybe try and find a Winchester site that would give you the proper name
and proper Winchester part numbers.
Take the work away from the folk at WGP's as they can get busy and not
care to dabble doing your home work for you.
I find this the best and easiest way to approach them.
Worst come to worstest, you'll know if parts are available up here and what
the pocket hert is going to be.

Good luck.

Sorry i didn't mean a NEW tube, I ment a tube that's just as old with better threads that's new to the gun I agree with
Putting anything new on a vintage shotgun usually drops its value by half
thank you for the pecisionarms website ill send em an email Hopefully save me from going to the EE in search of one with better threads

Yeah i figured the EE would be the best place to go to find an actual Winchester tube, just wanted to see if i could save this one first, when i bought it the guy was kind enough not to mention this little problem though i don't care still a ###y gun apparently the barrel is factory 20'' (full cycle) which is awesome but makes me curious what it was used for i assume prison guard or riot shotgun sadly no military markings

Being a solid frame gun makes the tube deficult to find its different than the take down chances are the threads in the action stripped as well . This fix will work take the mag tube to a wire wheel clean up
Degrease the mag tube and inside the action get JB weld apply a thin coat to the tube and inside the action thread it togeather and let it set up it will hold fine . Take the mag cap off and take the spring and follower out of the mag tube put wax anywhere you don't want the JB to stick.

Only visually inspected the action, but the threads on it are surprisingly fine, no noticeable damage at all, the tube will thread in but like anything stripped it only threads in so much then loosens instantly after a certain point

and yeah i figured it'd be hard to find a tube for it, all i ever find are take down tubes/barrels

Will be the first to admit that I know nothing about the 1897 . but would it be possible to have a smith cut the buggered section off the tube and rethread it . provided the threads in the receiver are still in useable condition .
