Can Wadcutters (not HBWC) be used in S&W 52 ?

Guys,

I used to load HBWC for my 52 but HBWC are quite difficult to get these days so I am thinking of switching to regular wadcutters. Will regular Wadcutter work (loaded to the case neck) in S&W 52 ? Should I use standard wadcutter loads or there is a catch ?

I have been using non hollow base wadcutters in my S&W52-2 for many years.

I cast my own bullets & find them to shoot as well as the hollow base.

As long as they're actual wadcutters and not semi wadcutters, there will be no problem. - dan

Any special loading data or just like a regular wadcutter regardless on the bullet seating ?

I use 2.7 gr of Bullseye with a WW small pistol primer. A good friend that also shoots a model 52 has had good success with 3.1 gr of WW231.

Bullets seated flush with the case mouth & just enough crimp to remove the flare created by the expander die.
