For those looking for a translation.

It says that at an exposition for police equipement, the Type 81 Assault Rifle got revamped into the CS/LR14 and in additionn to the quad picatinny rails, it aslo got it's caliber changed to 7.62x51mm NATO.

Please note that the Pink Sign on the last picture says : CS/LR14 7.62x51mm Automatic Rifle

Can we have CS/LR14 rifle in Canada? the new super tactical type 81.....

They looks like a hybrid of ACE23 and AK12, seems very ###y, wondering if we can have them in Canada since they are not AK......

Contrary to popular belief, classifications are not made on llooks by the RCMP. The 12(x) named prohibs were by looks by politicians, the classifications since then by the lab have been mechanical variants of prohibs.

Politicians banned guns on their looks.

Mounties ban mechanical variants of guns that were banned by politicians.

If you ban a gun because it's a variant of a gun that was banned based on its looks, then you're banning based on looks; Politician or police, it matters not.

Holy s**t Fenceline was wrong! Surely only once in 12,173 posts?! lol :runaway::stirthepot2:

Things change.

Apparently the lab has cited the Mitchell Arms AK22 as the reason. But that is from somewhere else on CGN.

Not sure how accurate that could be though. Don't believe the Blaze 47 is much of a mechanical variant to the MA AK22.

Of course they also claimed the Akdal was an AR15, but then said it could also be an AR10 so now NR.

But even though the Type 81 looks similar to an AK, it wasn't prohibited. Given this is a Type 81 update, it should be fine too.

Don't forget, the manufacturer also is to blame. If you build a gun and say that it is "a .22 AK" what else are the RCMP supposed to do? Argue with the manufacturer and say that it is NOT a .22 AK?

Case in point, all the GSG-5 literature claimed it was a .22 MP5.... that had a logical outcome in Canada.
