Coaching from club members would be my last choice. I've overheard some egregiously bad advice given by well-meaning people who have no idea what they are talking about. I'm not very tolerant of people who butt in and try and "help" when I'm shooting.Best advice. Get a properly fitted gun. 2nd get coaching even from club members.
If however there is one club member who is knowledgeable and willing to help then listen only to him/her and ignore everyone else. Sometimes too much advice/instruction can be worse then no instruction at all.
I did a session in the UK a few years ago and it was a real education. My session included extensive patterning and both o/u and sxs try guns because there are subtle differences in the measurements between the two.I may do a trip to the states for a fitting and trygun shoot, appreciated the referral for the fellow in Quebec, out to do a full trygun session and get stock specs for me. Not cheap but will be fun and worth it. Almost considering trying to build a trygun stock as a winter project.
