Can you lose your 12(6) Prohibited Status

When a 12(6) grandfathered individual is selling off their last prohib the CFC/CFO contacts him/her to make sure they understand that if the transfer completes the status is lost. This happened to a friend of mine. He had one handgun, which was also a 12(6) and he dicided to get rid of it. The CFC/CFO contacted him exactly as stated above before they would approve the transfer.

^ I trust you slapped him around after that

Well, not really since he 'gave' his 12(6) wheelgun to me: A blued Ruger Security Six .357 Mag with 2 3/4" barrel. He no longer shot handgun & just wanted to stick with his long guns. I warned him against it before hand but he was adamant. And the CFC/CFO also called him to confirm it before completing the transfer. But it went thru & he is no longer grandfathered. Another one out of the 'club'... :(

I rescued the Ruger from the crusher as he was intent on just turning it in to be destroyed as he figured no one would be interested in it....

Gee, some people are s.....
Is this notification by the cfc something
new??
I have a sad tale from a few years ago,
I had a extra minty L1A1 and a fellow was going to
buy it from me to repalce the ratty 1A1 I had sold him
before, but he sold his night before he drove down to
get mine, and when tried to do the transfer, he was no longer
grandfathered for 12-5
Back in ist year of this bull####, the cfc lost my original
derringer that grandfathered me, the s++ hit the fan
on that one- took 6 months to sort it out.
