Can you put glass on a MK 3 Ross? Update...but why?

I've a Ross MK 3 at home with a shortened bbl; shiny rifling though.
The stock is shortened on the front & the back (to screw on a buttpad), also it's been dropped and the rear sight knocked askew ( admittedly it could be fixed). None of this by me.
Has anyone here recently seen a scoped MK 3? Can it be easily done or is it a PITA?
I find myself perusing the precision Rifles on the EE, but why...I've a 'Point of no return' Ross rifle languishing at home?
Glassed up it'd be a fearsomely accurate thing, no?

A retired 'smith I used to know, now deceased, used to do exactly that. Converted a 280 to 7mm Remington Magnum too.

Update.
Took it out to Dad's with Smellie's pet load. Try it from the sled and see if I jacked the sight bridge level.
Must have; because it'd ricochet off 'the 335 yd rock' quite handily. The rock being slightly smaller than a gym bag. Had to move the rifle slightly to the side to confirm POA as the front sight covered it completely.
My father was gobsmacked by the rifle's accuracy. Truth be told...I've never REALLY hunkered down to see what one would do. Pretty impressive IMO
The only deviation from Smellie's load was Spitzer bullets...all I had.
I understand what Smellie meant about using "just the corner of the front post". The only issue was I had to set the ladder sight at 200 yds to smack the 335 yd rock. Pretty tough to get a load that mirrors the original so that the sight incremention remains true.

Gym bag is still a huge target, even at 335yds.
10 shots touching or inside a 4 inch circle, now your talking.

As you get older and need reading glasses, better sighting equipment is a must.

Considering that I jacked the bridge back level with a nut and bolt; with my eye to true it...I was pretty happy to see that the old dog can still bite.
I was picturing the old '80's Adidas bag ( Robin Hood Flour...big bag ) when I said gym bag. Not a hockey bag, lol

I have a bubbaed Ross MK III in at my gunsmith right now to get a one-piece scope base mounted. It isn't restoreable, so I don't feel guilty about it ! Looking forward to trying it out with a scope !
