Can you recommend 870 forend for trap?

Currently using Dominion standard forend, which is not very comfy in winter times with gloves and mitts. Something flared towards the action and heavily checkered/ribbed, but w/o rails etc.

Any pointers to such products appreciated.

Maybe a hogue, or even a dominion/870 wooden set. I can't remember if the dominion set was checkered, however, it was much wider and more comfortable I recall. Hope that helps! Cheers!

You mean this Dominion one?

What turns me off is that forend is tapered towards the action. It seems to be made by the same blueprints as their plastic forend. My hands polished their plastic forend gloss by now (about 5000 rounds through) and it's become very slippery.

Same thing with Hoque - tapered instead of flared.

I am very happy with Fab Defense forend, which is flared, but it has rails and is no good for shooting trap.

I have never heard of a forend being slippery and I've seen several 870 with over 100000 rounds through them. And trap, being a 1 shot sport, seems to negate the needs to pump the handle.

If you like the fab forend, then just get some rail covers for it and call it good.
