Maybe this will help if you can't reverse it. I bought a Winchester sxp last year, didn't think much about the crossbolt safety since I've hunted and shot an 870 for years. The difference between the safety being at the front and the back of the trigger guard was a big difference though, and I found that I couldn't reverse the safety.
The solution I came up with was to drill and tap the safety and fabricate a lever with a lobe that would ride on the trigger guard and operate the safety when rotated. I've hunted with it for one season and it's worked flawlessly.
