Can you tell me what mags fit in the Gen 3 T97 ?

Hey CGN i am having a hard time finding out what mags function in the T97 specifically the full size LAR pistol mags.... Can you all confirm or deny whats good to go or just stay away from the rifle....

I have confirmed the newer CPD Duramag 10/10 mags and D&H 10/10, 5/30 mags work. Waiting a shipment of CPD 10/30 mags from IRG currently. From my experience the aluminum mags fit better than steel. None of my ASC LAR mags will fit and neither do the 5/30 CPD Duramags. Hopefully this helps you some.

Many users have had good experience with cross mags. No personal experience. I usually try to stick to metal mags.

I will say that certain Lancer mags fit in mine, feeds well and might drop free (I had one that required filing to do so). I’ve heard of some people having luck with gen 3 pmags. But as mentioned above, most USGI style aluminum/steel mags work.

Black Bear Outdoors (in southern Alberta) has a channel on YouTube ... and there is a fair sized section (about five or six videos) for the Gen 3 T97 ... and in one of them he range tests several magazines for proper functioning. An excellent source for info about the rifle ...

My friend has Gen1 with the LHG/FTU upgrades. It certainly prefers metal to plastic... Cross Mags don't work AT ALL. Lancers don't fit either. ASC LAR are fine.

10 minutes with a file will allow it to accept pmags, LAR mags, everything. Not everybody’s comfortable doing it but slow and steady cures the mag issues, mine drop free and feed without any issues.

Cross mags fit my Gen 1 & 2

My buddy had to just slightly file his poly mag splines, cross mags are fine, Gi metal mags are fine, some metal magazines required a slight squeeze in a vise along the back spline. Now they all drop free and function fine in his Gen 3, as well after the slight fitting they still work fine in his WK.

His FX9 seemed to have problems when his poly Glock mags when loaded up as well, I am not a fan of non metal magazines.

He did the mags as poly mags are not all the same, but some do the mag well to, both are easy to do.

I like the LAR pistol mags in mine. I have only used metal mags in it. I find the Pmags a bit tight feeding it.
The Lar Pistol mags need a slight feed adjustment to the top and keep them marked and just for the T97. That way I have no issues
Adjustment for me is a slight bending of the mouth wider.

The Duramag LAR pistol mags work fine in mine. So do the Duramag 5/30 mags. They insert well, drop free easily, and feed properly. That is all i have tried, other than the cheapos that came with the gun

Went looking to see if anyone had any advice on these since I recently bought a T97 and the extra mags I picked up won't work. So I guess add the C Products Defense DuraMag SS 3/30 to the "will not work" category.
