Can you transport individual parts with out an att

I agree and everybody here is correct.
I am just saying Slides have serial numbers on them (usually).
So...

Trying to explain that this serialized part is not registered to a police officer...makes me really uncomfortable...

That is all. Just my 0.00002 cents.

Cheers

Then don't do it. If you're worried about some ill informed Leo jacking you up over a slide, what's stopping the same Leo from jacking you up over a sling or scope? Either man up and transport non registered components because you knowe they aren't and exercise your rights, or don't transport anything and live in fear of your government. Better yet, sell your evil baby killers and sleep easy.

I was wondering how long it would take for you to arrive and tell someone to shut up or man up.
Do you even bother to read what other people write? What I wrote is totally possible and your mileage might vary but it is not fear, it is called common sense.

Dude... get over yourself.

Most on here worry about the dumbest SH!t and this is no exception. My statement stands.

Not all pistols have the frame as the registered part, Ruger MK 1, 2, and 3 for instance have the receiver tube as the registered part because that is where the serial number is.

That is certainly my understanding. The part with the serial number is the determining factor. That is normally but not always the frame.

My Glock has matching serial number on 3 places; the frame, slide, and barrel.

Just for arguments sake, how would one find out which one is considered the registered component? I had always assumed it was the frame, but have no source for that statement other than what's commonly stated here.

Your registration certificate will indicate one of two descriptions. Handgun, or "receiver only". Seeing as how many many vendors offer conversion kits and uppers for AR's all without registration or proof of PAL, I'd say the receiver is the registered portion and the only registered portion. Your frame, slide, and barrel are all serialed for your convenience and for warranty purposes.

I have an older Grand Power K100. The serial number is on the slide. There isn't a single mark anywhere on the frame. In that case I would guess the slide is the registered piece. Usually it is the frame.
