Canada Ammo 1911 pics / Range report updated!!!

Cool vid! Looks like I'll have lots of time this weekend to fiddle with it....
What lube do you recommend. I have all sorts of oil for my rifles and in the past used a light oil for my Glock, but I have no spray type lube.

Range report II

Visited Range again on Dec.10, -15C!! after 200 rounds fired, not even a jam! the trigger goes much better, I believe both guns completly break in

Norinco not accurate, says who?!

Ok, so my extended slide stop on my new Norc 1911 two tone, does not engage with factory colt mags, and the mags do not drop free either...

The two Norinco mags have been noticably altered by being "pinched" flatter to extend and reach the slide stop and do function.

anyone else ?

I ordered/received the all blued version. Came with two mags. []. Noticed right away that both mags seem to be 'pinched' a bit on one side. They worked fine with the extended slide stop that comes with the pistol.... But as stated in earlier posts, the first thing I did after giving the pistol a good wipedown, was to change out the extended slide stop for a standard one.

Just tried various mfg mags in mine [with a standard slide stop].... Colt factory blued 7 & 8 rounders all good. Colt factory stainless 10 rounders all good. WWII USGI mag, blued, 7 rounder, all good. A bunch of other various makers, Wilson-Rogers etc 8 rounders with bumpers, all good. Only exception were some factory Mec-Gar blued 8 rounders with factory flat bumpers on bottom didn't want to go into the mag well easily. Just won't use them as all the others I tried worked fine.

Don't have to pay $40 for a slide stop replacement. Check Brownells or put an ad in the EE. I got a non norinco slide stop for $15.

I forgot all that youtube vid. I just downloaded it using keepvid. com

I'm still waiting on my two tone 1911, can't wait. Picking up the np-58 today.

Pics of mine. So far only gave it a cursory wipe down. Installed wood grips and a standard slide stop:

Would the slide stop listed in the link below work on the Norc's? I would assume so, but there are a whole slew of them listed on Brownells, and most of them are $30+...

took mine out to the range today, -15c. brrrrr.
anyway, after the first few mags (lots of jams but i'm sure it was underpowered truncated flat-point reloads) the gun ran fine.no problem w/ slide stop.
i found that s.a. and colt mags worked best.
very accurate gun, mine shot to the left so i need to drift the sight over a little...

why did everybody replace the slide stop? is there anything wrong with it? thanks.

So basically, unless a person plans on buying strictly norinco mags, the slide stop replacement is a must...

tac on another $40 ;(

Did you just read the last post in this thread??:D

I would feel bad for you but it was -31 degrees plus windchill (feels like -44c) in Saskatoon. ...unless you mean you were shooting at an outdoor range. Then that's pretty cold.

If it's to "mil-spec" for the 1911 then it should work with the Norc 1911A1's.

That said.... why not go with a CGN site sponsor: Marstar. I believe the slide stops they stock are $24 Cdn

I don't think it's an "everybody" thing... or necessarily there is anything wrong with the extended one that comes stock with the new Norc 1911A1.

In my case it's just personal preference. I took the one out of my Norc NP-29 1911A1 in 9mm too & replaced it with a standard one.

the range is an indoor cabin w/ a window to shoot outside.the
"heating",if you could call it that, didn't do much.
i froze but hey,i'm shootin',so who cares...
it was about -15 but there was a wind.i woke up this morn and my little weather station showed -28.
it's supposed to go as high as +10 monday,go figure.
