i got the stainless one, feels just like my old HP, except this one is very tight. no slide slop like my old girl.
i think my warranty may be void by now. havent even got to shoot it once.
the slide fits the old HP, cocks/clicks and runs snap caps.
the barrel even fits. but the old HP barrel cant. mine has a tab on the top of the barrel the is not on the new gun.
the old HP barrel does not fit the new gun. the feed ramp is slightly longer and doesnt slide over the breech block on the frame. it looks as though i could grind the barrel down and make it fit, but i am not going to bother.
mags are Mecgar mags. very close to the OEM browning mags. looks as though the mouse trap wire would fit the new mags. i am replacing the trigger and losing the mag safety, so its not really needed.
it may look it, but the new DA35 does not have a no bite hammer, it sure bites. so i promptly swapped that out.
i fitted an extended slide release, longer safety, competition trigger, no bite hammer and stickier grips. the novak-ish sights are good. it is a close fit, but real Novak's dont quite fit. so far the only differences i found are, the sear pin in the DA35 is a hair larger along with the trigger spring pin and the trigger pin. OEM browning all fit and function just fine. the DA35 pins in those positions are ever so slightly oversized.
to be done,
de-hone the frame and slide, beavertail and leading edges are kinda sharp.
checker the front and back straps.
install the trigger bar that changes the trigger pull.
flat top the slide and ad cocking serrations to the front of the slide also.
flare the mag well. still very sharp there. catches the mags if slightly off on reload.
and lastly, actually go and shoot it.
