Called the other day with an issue I had about something.
They certainly made it right with an extra pinch.
Great company.
Hang in there with this 97 bs.

Unfortunately, Canada Ammo has no ammo. They are sold out of all 3 types of ammo on their ammo page. Am I doing something wrong? Can a company called Canada Ammo really not have any ammo?!? It's like when I hit the Timmy's drive thru at 1am and they're out of donuts! C'mon people, you're a fricken donut store, that's what you do it sell donuts, and you can't even get that right. At least Canada Ammo has an excuse, but there is no Obama caused donut shortage!

The Real Company name it's Disco-tech Industries

Well, I happen to know that Chris is indeed working on bringing in ammo.

This task has been made much more difficult by the events of the past few years and through the actions of politicians from the same side of the political spectrum as your good friend Obama. As a result the US is almost closed to us as a source, especially of the lower cost and very desirable milsurp ammo.

Actually, I'm quite sure CanadaAmmo and all other retailers are very frustrated by the ammo shortage problem.

I'm really surprised someone in Canada hasn't seized the opportunity and begun making .223 here.

I was googling the old Imperial Ammuntion Company (Canada). They apparently stopped sellling commercial ammo back in the mid-late 1980's (I remember using it). Reasons aren't clear but it looks like they were bought up/merged with the company that curretly makes ammo for the Canadian Forces, to concentrate on that market. So it does look like there is a domestic supplier in Canada, just not one that sells to us lowly civilians!:( This is ironic in that they're probably being subsidized by us "lowly" civilians!!!!

Google "General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems Canada", and take a look for yourselves. Weirdly enough, on their small arms ammo page they offer (New production) .303 ammo for sale:confused: (Who would they be selling that to?) as well as .223,.308., 9mm.

I suppose a phone call would be in order.......

Zuperman, I don't think you'd like the pricing, even if they would sell to you. Current production ammo is quite pricy, from what I understand.

Seems to me the purpose of any business is to make money. General Dynamics is a publicly traded company and they're turning away business? Obviously if you only want a thousand rounds it's not worth their while, but is someone like CanadaAmmo or any other major retailer could place a significant order why would they say no? Unless they can't fulfill their military contracts. But what do I know... If I was a share holder I'd be upset if they were turning away business for no good reason.

They are not turning away business, they are fully booked with US gov orders under contract. Just as federal, IWI, etc.

I'm not questioning your expertice at all, but has anyone spoken to them first hand? Or is this just CGN chatter?

Maybe with Obama pulling troops out of Iraq that will lessen demand.

Robert, again, you would not pay what these fellows would ask (if they would even sell to you, which they can not and will not). Think in the neighbourhood of $1 per round ... at least that is what I have been told.

You are quite right in assuming that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have driven up the prices by consuming all available supply and tieing up production.

Whether or not Obama will do anything meaningful to change that situation is a far more open question. The bottom line is that we must go abroad to find sources of less expensive ammo, stuff that the militaries would no longer find acceptable for their use because of its age but is perfectly suitable for hobbyists like ourselves.
