Canada Post Deliveries

Have a parcel coming from Cortez island by van island. Was mailed november 23rd. Only a 5 hour drive and ferry ride away. No sign of it yet. Still accepted at post office. no other scans!!!

Just wait until they break your item in transit. Snapped a Mosin Nagant M91 right at the wrist on me and would only give back the cost of shipping. Another time they broke the safety off a rifle I returned to sender (for different reasons only discovered by photo just after it was sent), and refused to pay the cost of the item despite the sender having insurance.

Richmond is a real bottleneck where things get hung up pending shipment to the BC interior. I've got a shipment from Calgary, which was sent yesterday, with an advertised delivery of 16 Dec. That's overly optimistic, esp in the huge Christmas surge of online shopping. CPost must be making a pi$$-pot full of money these days.

Well it is Christmas during a pandemic when everyone is shopping online and mailing stuff because you can't get together in person. Wait a month or two......

Yep such a joke. Can have ups deliver cross country in 3 days. I've got one 2 parcels that haven't moved in 2 weeks but for some reason my Amazon packages make it on time

3rd Canada Post thread in less than 7 days.

They and other carriers are way under staffed due to covid. (nobody wants to work!!!!!)

Starting in the spring they where virtually running at half capacity.

Remember, it's not only Canada Post, Covid concerns are playing HELL with all delivery providers.

BTW, the Christmas rush started back when covid was first announced in Canada.

In case anyone wonders, why do you think the CDN Forces will be handling the logistics for the vaccine.

There is a virtual parcel jam across the country for delivery carriers that is only getting worse because of the Christmas season.

Most of the workers are already burned out before this season even started.

I'm not blowing hot air here, I have over 35 years in the business, at all phases.

The fallout is going to be huge at the end of this covid mess.

Starting with medical staff alone, you are going to see PTSD from HELL.

First line responders are dropping like flies now, just wait, it's going to be rough ride for a while.

Constant complaints cause frustration in the best of times.

Yeah. I assumed it’s just usual Christmas rush type of stuff. Lots of delays, got a turknelli from s&j that clearly said do not safe drop and well it was just laying there after being late by a week or so.

Been waiting on another package that said arriving tomorrow since dec 2.

Thank you Canada Post and Canadian Border Services for maintaining the flow of mail and parcels during 1. On line buying spree since the spring 2. a global pandemic and 3. the expected (and annual) Christmas rush/surge/wave. Came home today and Mr.Postie had already dropped of my 1944 DWC Jerry can in original paint from Austria at my door that I had tracked and expected to have to run down to a retail outlet to collect.

2 packages last week on time as per tracking .. one from Ontario, one from BC. 1 this week on time as per tracking, again from BC .. all to AB. No consistency about what's left in the super mailbox and what gets auto forwarded to the agency PO though. One day its "surprise:" its here (well at least on the block) next day its off to the drugstore for pickup.

I looked up my brass, it has been in Richmond for a week.

I have six outstanding deliveries from Canada Post. Two expected delivery dates have been pushed back twice and finally got the death sentence of "Item delayed - stay tuned for updates". The other 4 have no updates since early December. As bad as it sound, it is not as bad as Canpar. 3 weeks with the same status of sorting. 1.5 hr wait time if you call them. When you hit the lottery and are able to speak to someone, they give you false hope and tell you that it will be delivered today or tomorrow. Twice I got that. Live chat...forget about it. 2 hours and they outwait you and come on when you have signed off. 5 times that occurred. UPS has been the best so far. Still slow but I suppose it is just COVID precautions and volume that every one is going through. I just hope Canada Post is not running over my packages with a fork lift at the Richmond warehouse that is picking up some steam on another CGN thread. Note to self. Don't buy in December.

It's the Christmas rush.

I was promised a delivery, computer tracking, for the 1st of December, it finally arrived on the 10th of December.

I have a largish item thats gone radio silent on the tracking for two weeks nows. It left Calgary (for vancouver island) and no tracking news since. When I talked to people from Canada post they say its almost certainly sitting somewhere at the Richmond centre. When I was at the post office the other day the worker there described Richmond centre as a "black hole" where stuff will just disappear for weeks with no rime or reason. Its weird, but I'm not too worried.

Package shipped from Calgary with a promised date of 16 Dec arrived a day earlier in the BC interior. It went thru Richmond, but on line tracking didn't show a hit there.

Richmond is hit an miss. If they fill the sorting bin, before it's completely emptied, the stuff on the bottom is stuck there for weeks.

I've been waiting for some fly tying materials that were shipped Nov 6.
