Canada Post lost my customers Tavor.

So messed up, there's possibility that it was stolen off the line soon to fall into hands of criminals, that would be the worst case scenario. The worst part is how no one gives a damn, but if your averaged joe had misplaced his firearm he'd probably in chains right now.

Probably a lesson here to make sure you record the serial # in case it shows up for sale somewhere.
I'm definitely going to start doing this with non-restricteds.

Sounds like a good idea.
Yet people on here freak out if a cop ask to see the numbers on the NR guns at a stop.

The funny thing is those are the same guys who have actually never been stopped for the alleged experience.
So, the current topic has been active for a little over two months.
Has there been any updates to the disappearance?
Was this $$$ parcel insured?
Seriously someone gave a recommendation to the Brown Guys , yeah right.
Purolator is a subsidiary of Can Post too btw.

Had a friend that had 5 ipod classics(the big one) go missing in a row (5 separate shipments), all last scanned in Edmonton .
Finally had to pick one up at a apple store .

Been burnt by CP bad once as well. Had to send in receipts to the CRA for a tax audit, CP lost my receipts that I sent , (express post with tracking #). No receipts , no proof of legitimate deductions, Cost me over 5k (my fault, didn't insure the receipts for 5k, lesson learned) Also Edmonton was last scan . Hmmmmm "Edmonton" again.

If this was investigated , you would think that it should be fairly easy to track down , ie last location known, all persons that handled said parcel known, video surveillance at sorting facility, ect .But there would have to be an interest in doing so .

Did U call the Edmonton police service and report it to them as well?

Hope you can get this resolved OP,

Sometimes things just do get lost.

Last summer, I ordered a pair of black Allen Edmonds Strands shoes from the States. They're $500 shoes. USPS brought them to the border, they were accepted by CP, and onward to Mississauga, then to Kingston (according to the tracker) and then everything stopped. No shoes. The website indicated "delivered", but I never got them. Naturally I assumed somebody stole the shoes.

I went to the main branch of CP downtown and spoke with the mail supervisor, explained what I saw on the internet, saying that the shoes weren't delivered. She told me she would look around their depot, there was no reason they should have come all the way to Kingston and not get delivered.

An hour later, she called me and told me the box had been found, and would be sitting on my step when I got home - they were.

So, mystery solved. But what would have happened if I hadn't asked about them?

Why was this reported to the RCMP and not Edmonton Police??? You will more.likely get an investigation from EPS

So you gotta wonder, how many packages are "going missing"? I'm willing to guess it is a very small percentage of the packages, but it would be nice to see some real stats. I tried a quick search online and nothing popped up with a report from CP on their yearly losses or similar. I did see lots of references to failures to deliver by CP (and other delivery companies too). Is it incompetence or criminals? Probably both. Perhaps someone who works at CP could pipe in with some inside scoop on what is going on from their perspective?

Do they Xray the boxes??

My new-to-me Tavor just got here from BC.... I'm glad it survived the "Edmonton Triangle!!!"

Oh wait, we did UPS.

I had an ar15 with tracking that i bought off the EE simply disappear... it might have actually been in edmonton. Right as I was beginning to loose my patients and about to call the fuzz the CP guy showed up with it, the tracking had been ripped off somehow. Luckily the seller had written my address right on the packaging in sharpie.

The people who work at Canada post facilities know how to game the system. Their ridiculous salaries and pensions compared to the effort, skill, knowledge and time required to do the job is not enough for some of those greedy entitled sobs. That's not hatred coming from me, that's jealousy. Sign me up baby. I hate unions they screw everyone else in society not part of a union. I know it will never change so I may as well join one if I could right?

If Canada Post doesn't settle your claim up to your standards, you have the opportunity to go above their head to the Ombudsman. I recently had a massive headache with CP where a package arrived damaged. As soon as the woman working on the claim found out it was a rifle, she took no interest, replied to no emails, and closed the claim shortly after. Luckily after a few more months of working a claim with the Ombudsman, they paid compensation despite CP closing/denying the initial claim. It is a LONG process, but it may be worthwhile to try. Keep in mind, the Ombudsman will only look at your claim if CP has closed it.

I would hope that the woman mishandling the claim received a serious reprimand for this. On a side note, imagine the headlines if a gune 'lost' by CP turned up by being used in a crime.

Always scan receipts and send them electronically. Then they have no excuse that they didn't get them.

She won't. She'll probably f*cking claim she's doing her part for the community or try to spin some other politically correct bullschit.
