Canada Post Love-Hate and All Things "Shipping" Thread

$1000 rifle shipped Regular Parcel Post with $1500 insurance, arrived in 2 days no problems. I have done 20 buy and sells using CP and no problems other than the bloody price.

Any parcel over a meter seems to add ten dollars to the bill.
I try and shorten the shooter up by removing the rear stock or
remove the action from the stock.
Wrap the thing up like a kookewn oar mummy and pack the shipping
box full of cruppled newspaper.
Take the movement out of the contents so the barrel doesn't do the
appearance trick.
I tape the whole box, then wrap in freezer paper and tape again.
Fruck'n thang should float by this time.

I then do up a couple mailing label and clear tape it to the parcel,
one on each side.

Wow.

I understood every word.

I must be hammered or fell on my head!

If i can ask, how much does it cost? I am footing the bill to get it mailed and would like an idea.

Is that a neck tattoo or part of her earing?

I received some fibre optic rods about a month ago from Hong Kong. 12 calendar days from the moment I hit the "Pay Now" tab on eBay to my front door. Yet it takes 2 weeks to ship from Ontario to BC.

Anyway, I got my refund in the mail last Friday, and according to Martini Gunmakers, my rifle arrived "unscathed". They also remarked how nice it was :)

So I guess I got slow but free shipping.

Not like Ralf was going to turn it around in two weeks anyway.

Not sure what it is, but sure would give it a nibble..lol
I have never had an issue I can think of.
What pisses me off is that a guy pays how much to ship..then they ask if I want insurance? I say "for what?..well if we lose it or break it?..ok so I have to pay extra for you to do your job right?..phuck that.

bought a rifle, ask seller to put a signature at the end on the parcel.
on the arrival day, follow the tracking number and noticed the rifle has been succesfully delivered.. hmmm I was away and no one else at home. 30 minutes later, saw the signature was made in the tracking.... came home and there was no box anywhere. Call CP asking what happen, they have no clue. we are 20h00 call again and still nothing. they recommend to call again the day after and they will start an investigation.. at 22h30 someone knock at the door, my neighbour standing by the door with a big smile and a long box beside him... he told me, was about to leave for work in the morning when the delivery guy shows at my door, he said, give it to me I'll sign on his behalf and give it to him later when he comeback home.. I was new in the area and it was the first time I spoke with this neighbour. It was a 800$ milsurp in the box...
It was a good one...

Good ending. Sounds like you should offer up a round of favourite beverages and an invitation to the range.

Here's a good one. On the 11th of February I sent a package to a guy in Austria. I was told insurance over $100 was unavailable on International Air Mail. Package was worth in excess of $500. It was WELL ADDRESSED AND PACKED. Got an international tracking number and I followed the item daily until it left Canada from Montreal. A couple days later I checked and item was shown as arriving in foreign country code AUSYDA. IT IS NOW IN AUSTRALIA!!!! Called the help line at Canada Post after flailing around the Canada Post website for half an hour. The lady was very helpful, "Oh, my your package IS in Australia." I said, "Yes unless there is a New South Wales in Austria." She said she was very sorry and the parcel would PROBABLY be shipped back to Austria at some point. She said when and IF it arrives at its proper destination I can take my receipt to Canada Post and receive a refund of the nearly $60 it cost me to ship(package 6in.x2in.x3in.). If it doesn't arrive I get $100 insurance money and will have to refund the Austrian buyers $550 Canadian.
Now that is a good deal for me.

Canada post work in mysterious ways, Tuesday I sent a package 2 provinces away and a package 50klm away, its friday and the calgary package was delivered, I tracked the local package and its scheduled for Monday delivery 4 business days for 50 kliks and 3 for 2000 kliks, both sent regular ground

What a f@cking disaster. Truly sorry to hear about your inconvenience. Fingers crossed it makes its way back unharmed.
