CanadaAmmo 12.5" 870 Barrel - legal?

Because it is a Manufactured barrel by a licensed manufacturer it is legal, a chopped barrel to that length is illegal.

What would the muzzle blast be like on something that short
It depends. If you ask in this forum the answer would be "very loud and obnoxious."

If you ask in the Black and Green forum the answer would be "awesome, soooo baaaaadass, and guns is loud eh?"

Can we keep the tactical stuff in the right fourm?

And both answers would be absolutely right and I agree wholeheartedly with both and have yet to meet a shotgun that I did not like :).

The muzzle blast is not that bad. If you are wearing ear protection like you should be you wont be bothered. This is coming from a guy with a 30 something inch single shot, a 28 inch wingmaster and a 12.5 inch grizzly. Most of the whining is coming from a combination of crybabies and elitists. That said all but the most hard headed enjoy shooting a grizz when given the chance to shoot some steel or stationary clays. As to this being the wrong forum I intend to take my grizz out on my next deer hunt due to local regs (no rifles). Deer hunting is plenty sporting.

Not everyone who has a 12.5" bbl. 870 is a mall ninja, infact I would suspect there are a pile of people who take the gun on canoe trips, backpacking, etc. for wildlife protection. I've shot ruffed grouse with mine.
The fact that an 870 with 12.5" bbl. maintains it's non-restricted status makes it all the more attractive.

Yes, it's loud, but so is a ported clays gun.

Shot Trap with a guy that was shooting a 12" HP-9. IT WAS LOUD... But it wasn't a problem because it kicked him so hard he only made it to station 2. He started on 1.

I'd happily shoot your load of choice through my chicom 870 clone and you can shoot whatever sub 1000 dollar manual action shotgun of your choice shot for shot. Whoever quits first pays for the ammo. Now that I've thrown the glove down to be clear i wouldn't shoot trap or skeet with my grizz. I have however rapid fired a little under 400 rounds of cheap bird shot, 50 full powered OO buck and a hand full of slugs through it in an afternoon of drills about 2 months after buying it. It didn't explode and not only was i not injured but my #### didn't fall off. Earlier in my shooting life i put about 50 rounds of hunting loads loads through my grampa's old single shot. I received stretch marks for my efforts. How many rounds do you shoot in a match of these clay sports again?

Are you poor? Maybe in time you can afford something good. Or you could save up for it. Shotguns are like free ######. Unfortunately the chinese spoil my woody.

Sorry to disappoint you, I currently don't have any Chinese shotguns, just a commie bbl. on an 870.

I use my Beretta's and Benelli's for hunting, not busting mud discs and pompous ass posts on the net. Have a nice day.
