CanadaAmmo is the best

Easter eh? Last I heard Easter is still in customs pending re-classification as a "prohibited" holiday by the Mounties... If it gets released by April, let me know - I took the whole month off... so my dance card is free...

I've read this thread thus far in silence and with interest, as like most of us...I too have a T97 on order. Yup; I wish I could have it now as well but "c'est la vie" and the folks that are holding them are none-too-interested in communicating with CanAm. That is poor business practice on the part of the Government.

That being said, I believe that those who wish to complain or articulate why they feel the service is/has been poor should be able to do so. I suppose everyone is entitled to their opinion. I would certainly hope so.

It would seem that those who sing the praises of CanAm and this situation have a cheering section. Those who are brave enough to state their case and express their feelings as to why they are unhappy are subsequently "run out of town" via pitchfork and posse. When will we be setting up the "dipping tanks" to see if they drown?

Very well said, kudos sir!

It would seem that only praise is allowed here and not criticism. Should we have a thread designated "praise only"? Sadly, a couple of nights ago, Hunterhenderson started a "refunds from CanAm" thread and minutes later, it had disappeared. Sigh...

My position is that what is happening is beyond the control of us (the consumers) and CanAm (the poor guy that is in the middle, the place where you get hit by the most stones). I harbor no ill will and hope my T97 arrives soon.

But, I also harbor no ill will or frustration at those who feel they've been treated less than adequately and want to articulate their case on here. I read all the posts with interest and an open mind.

Will they change my opinion? Unlikely...but their opinions are as entitled as mine and I'm glad to read them all.

In the meantime, we go and fire our other firearms and wait for "Christmas in the spring".

Very well said, kudos sir.

Quite the analogy

[QUOTE Talking to you is like walking up to a fresh pile of dog s**t and trying to have a conversation with it.QUOTE]
Im not so sure I can relate toyour analogy. Please explain further how you do this and how did you come up with such an original idea! I bet your feet stinki!

Ok now we maybe off topic...I agree with the refunds, if the guns are so popular they should have no problem selling them to others right? If they get to sell them, and if they do not we all still lose deposits? Not good. Some people have ordered more than one so it is not a matter of $100 loss. Can Ams fault or not, they are who WE are dealing with. The letter writing is a novel idea, but everyone here knows it will fall on deaf ears.

Thad- atta boy! Giving up always works. I guess you haven't realized the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Letters do count. Whining on cgn, not so much.

AFAIK, these posters have not asked us for a refund directly. All custoers need to contact us directly regarding there orders.

I am overseas until end of March, so posting here ever day with an update is not possible. If you hear nothing the last update is still valid. RCMP is jacking us, Lever, Marstar, etc around. But little or comms from them as to the details. We have meetings and such soon.

As for billing customers. We did this to alleviate the backlog created when they arrive. As many here know we are swamped with orders. We took advantage of the time, expected to be no maore than a few days, before clearance to bill the orders. So all we needed to do was register, transfer and ship.

I was sincerely hoping to speed things up to save you waiting time.

I am hopping on another 20 hour flight in a few minutes, so that will be me out until tomorrow eve.

Thank you for your patience. These is trying for all of us, especially me.

LOL I walked up to, not in!

Thad politicians consider one letter to represent 500 votes. They do count. Especially when the realize they might lose a lot of votes.

I'm glad CanAm spent a few moments out of his surely hectic schedule to address all of us.

I hope this does a little to alleviate some of the anxiety and restore some faith in the folks out there that are feeling somewhat "abandoned".

Good juju all around. :)

I used to wonder why certain dealers took a hard line on whiners and complainers. It always struck me as rather harsh when they laid it on the line and told certain folks not only to take their business elsewhere, but that henceforth they would not sell to these individuals at all.

Now I get it ... completely.

CanAm is a standup guy and I don't blame some of you for not knowing that because you have probably never met him. Some good points have been made here already, notably:

1. the T97 rifles are being held up through no fault of his.

2. there was no reasonable expectation that there would be any issue with their import.

3. the prepayment for the rifle included the benefit of a free T97 mount.

4. ask for a refund if you are unhappy, I think its been offered.

Some other points:

1. the cost of the rifles increased for CanAm during the wait due to the change in value of the Cdn $. No price increase was made as a result. CanAm has always sacrificed profitability in order to make things available for us. Not totally of course, but he has leaned in the direction of keeping things affordable.

2. some of you sound like you would like it both ways. You wish to be dissatisfied and get your money back and then you'd like to get back in line and buy later on; that strikes me as hypocritical. If you are unhappy ask for a refund by all means, but it seems odd to want to buy from folks you 'so disliked'.

3. asking privately for a refund will get your money back. Complaining on a public thread will get you attention. Just what was it you were hoping to get? ;)

If its your guns you want, you've been told you must wait and why ... if you can't wait the other option is a refund. You won't speed things up by whining.

I mailed 13 letters last to Cons and Opposition MP's that vaguely referenced a Western Canadian business that imported firearms, and the unconstitutional way their product was withheld and confiscated by Customs and local law enforcement without just cause; as well as asking them to support C301

We're all angry about not getting our rifles in (in my world, once you've paid for it - it's yours) - but what good does getting angry at other gun owners or the business bringing it in? It sure as hell won't get your guns in any faster.

Channel that anger and direct it to where it is most needed - the fight for all of our gun rights. For the amount of time some of you have spent trolling this forum, you could have written, printed, and mailed a dozen letters to opposition MP's simply asking them to support C-301.

Who knows, by putting the fire to the feet of the right MP, maybe they'll put some pressure on the regional RCMP detachment the right way and get the ball rolling on releasing our rifles.

I'm sure there's some senior members of Canada Customs and the RCMP who have to deal with public safety politicking - so send a letter to Peter Van Loan, your MP and get them to work for you!

I think you put up an address once before but the thread was deleted, any chance of getting that address again where the letters should be sent?
