Not sure about firearms but i know UPS does ammo. They provide service that equals Fedex (at least here in the east)
It does seem somewhat ironic for a company with "Ammo" in their name to partner with a shipping company that refuses to handle ammunition.
And FedEx is pretty anti-gun. They have a no-gun policy for
ALL employees and
ALL of their premises in Canada and the USA. In Arizona and Montana FedEx properties are some of the few places where I have to store my gun in my car.
Other than that though, they're bar none, my favourite courier in Canada. Open late, and open 7 days per week if I'm not home to sign.
The FedEx guy always brings cookies for my dog, and they're the least likely to miss a guaranteed delivery date. They are also the most reliable at customs brokerage, although that doesn't matter for CanAm.
DHL is quick and cheap, but their only depot is at the international in Edmonton, and closes at 7pm M-F. UPS is the worst, only open M-F till 6 or so, and closed at lunch.
CanPar isn't bad, but it's not FedEx. Canada Post has gotten way more convenient since community mail boxes though, due to the fact that items that would have been pick up tagged now go in the parcel enclosure at the end of my street.
