I just ordered on of CanAm's Surefire 870 forend clones for my Norinco. We'll see how it goes!

Anyone else buying or have bought one yet??

It the flashlight built in or can we swap it? What diameter?
 
OK, so it arrived today.

The forend is very solid. The flashlight seems solid. It's a slip fit with O ring to the forend.

There is some fitting to be done as the barrel ring makes contact with the forend.

The shooting component of the test will have to wait until I meet up with Casey. While taking the forend off, I found the factory follower had shattered into half a dozen pieces, and the Wilson Combat mag extentions sling plate was blocking the forward movement of the pump.

On first impression it looks good. My only fear is that being a slip fit with O ring holding it tight, it may back out under recoil. The plus side is it seems simple enough to remove the flashlight when not needed.
 
The mag follower broke??? if so call/pm me ill send you a new one we are making.
we are finlly getting around to makeing our cnc machined solid Dupont Delrin mag followers.

PM inbound;) Yup, the orange factory follower shreded. No warning. I pulled it out of the safe, pulled the mag cap, and chunks fell out with the spring. Make a bunch Simon, 'cuz frankly having seen this one fail, I strongly recommend owners replace the factory part.

I believe the battery is the same as the surefire (CR123)?? I'll let you know when I get a battery(s). The bulb seems to be an LED type and there seems to be some adjustment for beam focus.
 
I think I figured out why it needs some trim to fit Grizzly.

See the pic. It's for long barrel version whose mag tube is longer, right?
 
Just curious, if the clone needs fitting, does this apply to the authentic surefire product as well? Is it a problem cause by the shorter barrel length more than the product itself?
