Oh ya? What were the complaints? Poor accuracy? Parts breaking?
I know the M110 had issues with durability. I guess ultimately they're almost the same gun.

Sounds like they're looking for something in the PDW class as a secondary weapon for the sniper.

From what DTA themselves have said, the accuracy they deem there MDR capable of it would not meet the requirements.272 only?
Just get the US to send a few M21s over before the wall goes up. Drop in the bucket for them.
Whats a few dings and scratches?
On a more serious note, does Desert Tech produce a semi .308 bullpup sniper rifle?
That would be a nice gun if they do!
Edit: desert Tech .308 MDR.
There are a few barrett semi auto 50 in the hands of the CF.
We have an HK MR308 that belongs to customer - did some homework and this or other HK would be my pick.
Shot a Daniel Defense .308 at CORE and it had no jams with many rounds pounded through by many shooters, unlike other AR-style .308s that we have seen.
press release:
Heckler & Koch has confirmed that a modified version of its G28 rifle has won the Army's Compact Semi-Automatic Sniper System contract.
The gun will replace the M110 made by Knight's Armament as a culmination of the Army's desire for a shorter, lighter rifle that didn't sacrifice accuracy or performance. A press release from Heckler & Koch said the G28 is a light-weight variant of the 7.62 mm gas-powered G28 in use by the German Army, adjusted to fit the U.S. Army's requirements.
