Canadian BDX (not CamPro) Bullets - What's with the oil/film on their projectiles?

I recently opened a bag of bulk Campro 9mm FMJ projectiles that I bought some time ago - I don't even recall when. The projectiles seem to have an oil or protectant or something on them that makes them feel oily for lack of a better description.

Campro's website seems to be down or at least I cannot open it so I haven't been able to ask them about it.

Any thoughts on the oily bullets? Do I need to clean them off or should I just load them and get on with my day?


EDIT - The projectiles I have are from Canadian BDX and not CamPro.

Yes they're pretty greasy. Handling them leaves a noticeable film/oil feel to my hands.

I wonder if the CamPro sight doesn't like that I'm using a VPN? If so, too bad.

I am using a VPN and it loads just fine for me, try clearing your cookies

Damn incompatibility with my VPN. Turned the VPN off and it worked like a charm. Dissapointing in this day and age.

All my Campro purchases such as .223, .45acp, .357, 40 and .308 have been pretty clean - no oily residue.

both domains worked for me. maybe your ISP's DNS isnt resolving.

as for the film/oil, i've never experienced that issue.

I have concluded that is is a incompatibility with my VPN. With it turned off, CamPro's website loads quickly and perfectly.

I've sent them a message asking about the oil.

That's strange. I've gone through a few batches of campro 9mm and have never experienced a film or oil on the bullets.

The only bullets I've noticed with a lube is bdx becuase they are jacketed with an exposed lead base. I'm assuming it's sizing lube becuase they are not tumbled after sizing. I never bothered to remove it and it hasn't effected my reloads.

We'll screw me. I just checked my garbage and the bullets I have are Canadian BDX. Sincere apologies to CamPro. And they do have exposed base lead. I'll have to try loading them as is and see how they run.
